Article Processing Charges

Cellular Physiology and Biochemistry is a peer-reviewed hybrid open access journal committed to maintaining high scientific, editorial, and ethical standards.

To support the costs associated with professional manuscript handling and open access publication, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of € 1,500 (excluding 19% VAT) is applied for articles published.

What the APC covers

The APC contributes to the following services provided by the journal:

• Management of a rigorous, independent peer-review process
• Editorial assessment and coordination by experienced academic editors
• Professional copyediting and typesetting
• Online publication of the final article with worldwide access (no charges for readers)
• DOI registration and permanent article identification
• Long-term digital archiving
• Inclusion and maintenance in international indexing and abstracting services
• Administrative and technical infrastructure to ensure publication quality and sustainability

Transparency and ethics

The APC is independent of editorial decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated solely on scientific quality, originality, and relevance. Payment of the APC has no influence on acceptance or rejection of a submission.

There are no submission fees.

Additional fees

Errata are charged at € 500 each (excluding 19% VAT). If an author withdraws a submission after acceptance and preparation of the PDF proof, the publisher reserves the right to charge incurred costs of up to € 750 (excluding 19% VAT).
